Fasteners Pro – Support
Welcome to the support page for Fasteners Pro. If you have questions, run into issues, or need help interpreting results, you’re in the right place.
🔧 Common Issues & Fixes
1) App not opening or crashing
- Confirm your device meets the minimum OS requirements (keep your OS fully updated).
- Force close the app and reopen it. If that fails, uninstall and reinstall.
- Ensure permissions are granted (e.g., file/storage if exporting results).
- Free up device storage (aim for at least 500 MB available).
- Restart your device to clear transient issues.
Still crashing? Email logs/steps to pmicorp@outlook.com and include device model, OS version, and a brief description of actions before the crash.
2) Inaccurate torque calculations
- Verify fastener material & property inputs. Select the correct material/spec and confirm tensile/yield data.
- Check units. Torque can be in N·m or ft·lbf; forces in N or lbf; areas in mm² or in².
- Nut factor / friction (K) and lubrication. Make sure the chosen K reflects your lubrication/finish (dry, oiled, moly, plated).
- Thread class & engagement. Confirm class (e.g., 2A/2B, 3A/3B, 6g/6H) and effective thread engagement length.
- Diameter & pitch. Verify nominal diameter, pitch (or TPI), and tensile stress area are correct.
Review your Results screen. Compare each detail (material, K, thread class, diameter, engagement, units) for consistency with your application. Adjust inputs to match your real joint setup.
📋 FAQs
Q: Which units does Fasteners Pro use?
A: You can work in metric or imperial. Torque: N·m or ft·lbf. Force: N or lbf. Area: mm² or in². Stress: MPa or psi.
Q: My torque seems high/low. What should I check first?
- Material & grade/spec (and that its properties match your source).
- Nut factor (K) and lubrication/finish condition.
- Thread class (fit) and effective engagement length.
- Correct diameter, pitch/TPI, and tensile stress area.
- Unit settings (no hidden unit mismatch).
Q: Can I override default friction / K values?
A: Yes—set a K that matches your lubrication, surface finish, and procedure. If uncertain, use values from your organization’s torque specs or the fastener manufacturer.
Q: Does the app save my results?
A: Results are kept within the current session and can be exported if you choose. Close the app to clear unsaved session data.
Q: Are results “field ready” without verification?
A: No. Always verify with your engineering standards, procedures, and calibrated tools. The app is an aid, not a substitute for professional judgment.
🧪 Best Practices for Reliable Torque Results
- Use up-to-date, authoritative material data (specs/standards or manufacturer datasheets).
- Match K to lubrication & finish; retest if conditions change.
- Confirm thread fit/class and engagement meet your design intent.
- Use calibrated torque tools and follow your torque procedure (e.g., snug-pass + angle, staged tightening).
- Re-run calculations when any variable changes (material, lube, class, diameter, pitch, units).
